Tried & Tested - Polar Ignite GPS Watch

There are a lot of Smart/GPS watches out there on the market now, after my TomTom watch eventually died, I was on the hunt for a new one. The basic requirements were something to track speed, distance etc and a screen big enough that I could read while I was riding, anything else was a bonus.

Having used Polar Heart Rate monitors, I was intrigued by their range of smart watches and ended up choosing the "Ignite" model, mine is a good few years old now and is not the current model but it has been great (tested in all weathers!)

Polar have "horse riding" as an option you can select when choosing your activity which to be fair was probably the selling point for me! The screen is a good size and you can choose what you want to display on the screen and the layout of this. The Polar Flow is simple and easy to use and you can use this to track rides if you don't have your watch. For those who like it linking to your phone you can also have it set up to share your phone's notifications

Price wise - it's not the cheapest on the market but certainly not the most expensive
